What it’s like to live here​

Ananda Community is a 72-unit apartment complex on 5 acres of natural surroundings. There is a feeling of peace and natural beauty that is rarely found in traditional apartment settings.

​​What you’ll find:

• Large, central, grassy courtyard with beautiful tall trees and extensive landscaping 

• Swimming pool — solar heated in summer

• A friendly, stable community where residents tend to know each other

• A safe, walkable, residential neighborhood

• Easy walking, biking, or short drives to extensive shopping nearby: Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Safeway, and more

• San Antonio Caltrain station is nearby

• Bike routes nearby

• Conveniently close to El Camino, 101, 280, Stanford, and many tech companies

• Los Altos and Mountain View school districts​

• This is an older apartment building (1960s) without amenities like dishwashers, AC, or EV chargers. But it’s lovingly maintained, and we think more enjoyable to live in than more modern construction. You be the judge!

Ananda Community is comprised of these types of apartments:

• Studios with large covered decks and views (upstairs). Unusually large layouts and closet space, including a separate small bedroom or office

• Jr 1BR (downstairs) with private patios, large living rooms, and small bedrooms that can accommodate up to a queen bed.

• Large 1BR (downstairs) with private patios

• Large 1BR (upstairs) with large covered decks and views

• Townhouses (2-story, 2-bedrooms) with open floor plans downstairs, large private patios. Bathroom, and one large and one smaller bedroom upstairs

What is Ananda?

Ananda Community is an intentional spiritual community that has been in existence in Mountain View since 1989. As you stroll around the property, you will see small shrines and small devotional statues. These are part of Ananda’s devotional tradition and are there to offer inspiration and tranquility for those who value it.

Apartments are available for rent to the general public; no affiliation is required. Many residents simply enjoy the peaceful, friendly atmosphere.
